London, 06 May 2026 - UK Carbon Registry is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Archax for the launch of a new regulated note structure providing institutional access to carbon-linked digital assets.
Under the partnership, Archax will support custody and distribution through its regulated digital asset and securities infrastructure, enabling institutional and professional investors to access the product via established market frameworks. This partnership represents the first structure of its kind to bring verified carbon credits into a regulated financial market.
The first issuance is PURE Carbon, a high-impact water conservation and emissions reduction project. Emissions data is captured at source, processed securely, and structured in collaboration with GenTwo into a regulated note, issued as a tracker certificate with an ISIN and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
The instrument provides exposure to carbon-linked assets from in-boundary PURE Carbon projects, with tCO₂e mitigation independently verified by Earthood, a UN- and ISO-certified body, and methodology oversight provided by Deloitte, ensuring integrity.
The structure supports corporate compliance and reporting requirements - including the ETS and EU/UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement - by providing access to in-boundary verified carbon mitigation activity across reporting scopes. With a fixed 10% USD coupon and ISIN tracker certificate, the instrument combines predictable income with ownership of energy-backed carbon assets within a regulated environment.
Nick Donovan, Chief Commercial Officer at Archax, comments:
“This partnership marks an important step forward in the evolution of climate finance, demonstrating how regulated market structure can be used to support climate-impact objectives at institutional scale. We are pleased to be leveraging Archax’s regulated, institutional digital asset platform in partnership with UK Carbon Registry and GenTwo, to deliver this important milestone.”
Adrian Fraine, Finance Director at UK Carbon Registry, comments:
“We’re delighted to collaborate with Archax for the PURE Carbon Tracker note and the underling PURE tokens, powered by Flowchain. It completes the regulatory and institutional pathway we set out to create in 2021. Enabled through UN and ISO climate management and governance processes, with registry infrastructure underpinned by Thomas Murray, and now Archax’s regulated custody of carbon mitigation activity, we can provide project owners and investors with a framework they recognise and can operate securely within.”
